To wheelchair assisted visitors of Future Theater

There are several points at the Future Theater (Higashi 1-chome Theater Facility) venue with stairs or steps.
SIAF2024 will be equipped with portable chairlifts (scalamobil) and support staff so those assisted by wheelchairs may experience and enjoy pieces at the Future Theater.

Implemented and operated by:NPO “Te-to-te” (“Hand to Hand”)

There will be a staff present every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday throughout the exhibition period. Two staff members will be available, one of which will be a qualified caregiver ready to provide assistance.

Reservation Process(1)Reservations are required in advance, so please select your desired date and time for visitation  from the following.

(2)Please download the application form and send it by e-mail or fax. 

(3)Please come to the Future Theater (Higashi 1-chome Theater Facility) at the reserved date and time and call out to the information staff. With the assistance of a qualified caregiver, you will be moved to a Scalamobil wheelchair and guided throughout the venue.

(4)At points within the venue where there are stairs or steps, the Scalamobil will be used to ascend and descend as necessary. The operation of the Scalamobil will be conducted by the caregiver staff

In addition, during SIAF2024, workshops such as “Enjoying the Art Together with Written Communication” and events like “Future Theater Gallery Tour in Japanese Sign Language” are available, allowing you to appreciate art using non-verbal forms of communication.
